Sigma DP1 and DP2 Review - Macworld
The Sigma DP1 and DP2 digital cameras use the unique Foven X3 14-megapixel sensor which is easily up to 12 times the size of sensors found in other point and shoot cameras. The DP1 has the equivalent of a 28mm f4 lens while the DP2 comes with that of a 41mm f2.8. The optics are Sigma quality. Both cameras support Raw files for the utmost image quality differing a bit in the feature set between the two.
"The Sigma DP1 and DP2 produce the most outstanding low ISO (100 to 400) images of any compact camera I have ever used. Their image quality is truly on the same scale as entry-level SLRs. You get sharp, accurate colors, wonderful tonality, and the ability to isolate your subject with shallow depth of field—all in a package that resembles a rangefinder and slips into a jacket pocket when turned off."

So the new Canon G11 has been announced and people are looking - including me! But I have been carrying the G10 in my pocket for the past year or so and it has gotten to be a habit to grab my keys, wallet, a quarter (gotta have some cash) and the G10. Without it now I don't feel dressed.
Pictures of your dog or cat if done right inspires exclamations of praise and encouragement's to "enter that picture in a contest"!
Digital photography has taken over as the main photographic method today. Ironically, go back just a few short years and most of us were shooting film, buying film, developing film, and getting prints for all out efforts.
