The Rumor Mill is very active at this moment. First, there’s talk of a brand new from outer space kind of Nikon. It’s said to be a D700X and touted from a source known as “Uncle Bob” who says this one is sanctioned by none other than NASA. Second, is the chatter of an Olympus E-P1 Wanna Be. This one is said to be from Panasonic and known as the “GF1.” If this one is real it indicates that the Micro Four Thirds is picking up steam. Of course, the E-P1 is missing both a built-in flash and an electronic viewfinder, both of which seem to be present in the GF1. Panasonic has at least stepped up to the plate and said something is coming on September 1 – 2 indicated a worldwide launch to accomodate time zones.
Third, a lot of people expect something from Canon maybe as early as August or September. Models being tossed around are the 1D Mark IV or the 1Ds Mark IIIn. Information, as is with most rumors is sketchy. Until something is introduced it’s rumored as a rumor.
