Portrait of a Changing DSLR Market
According to an analysis of the DSLR market worldwide Canon is getting some stiff competition from Nikon. According to German website PhotoScala, Nikon, although still smaller when compared to Canon, is gaining ground against the leader, somewhere around 10%.. You might find it of interest as to how other popularly mentioned companies including Olympus, Panasonic, and Sony have been performing in the DSLR sector. (Some familiar names are noticeably absent.) While this analysis shouldn't be considered the final word it may provide a view into this area of photography and how the cards are stacked.













So the new Canon G11 has been announced and people are looking - including me! But I have been carrying the G10 in my pocket for the past year or so and it has gotten to be a habit to grab my keys, wallet, a quarter (gotta have some cash) and the G10. Without it now I don't feel dressed.

Digital photography has taken over as the main photographic method today. Ironically, go back just a few short years and most of us were shooting film, buying film, developing film, and getting prints for all out efforts.
