Would you buy Refurbished or Recertified from Adorama Camera?
I usually answer the questions, but today I have a question. We're looking for your views and opinions, so feel free to say as much or as little as you want!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Many of you will be familiar with buying refurbished cameras and lenses, and some will be aware that one of the big manufacturers introduced a new requirement recently - that we can no longer indicate on our website which factory has refurbished the equipment we sell.
As I've posted a few times in response to enquiries, all refurbished products sold by Adorama have been factory refurbished by the manufacturer and come with a 90 day return-to-Adorama warranty; 14 days from date of receipt for a full refund, and the balance for repair or replacement. They have all been restored to the exact manufacturer specifications by the original manufacturer.
In the interest of clarity, we need to find a way to be informative and transparent, without breaking any of the terms of the agreement with our suppliers.
One suggestion is that we describe these items on our website as 'recertified'. We'd love to know what you think. Would that description make you nervous? Have you any other thoughts?
NB I will be posting this text on a number of forums; I hope you will understand that there is no intention to 'SPAM', but in truth, there aren't too many ways that I can reach out to all our customers asking what can only be an identical question!
Thank you
Sincerely
Helen OsterAdorama Camera Customer Service Ambassador

So the new Canon G11 has been announced and people are looking - including me! But I have been carrying the G10 in my pocket for the past year or so and it has gotten to be a habit to grab my keys, wallet, a quarter (gotta have some cash) and the G10. Without it now I don't feel dressed.
Pictures of your dog or cat if done right inspires exclamations of praise and encouragement's to "enter that picture in a contest"!
Digital photography has taken over as the main photographic method today. Ironically, go back just a few short years and most of us were shooting film, buying film, developing film, and getting prints for all out efforts.

after being in electronics for 23 years, I did a lot of refurbishing on medical equipment and computerized equipment. If the techs at the factory have as much pride in their work as I did, then, the refurbished cameras are as good or better than new. Yes I would buy a refurb.
