Canonrumors.com is reporting that the Canon EF 35mm f1.4L may be discontinued. They’ve received information that may have come straight from the halls of Canon.
To back it up, seems as though the current 35mm f1.4L is back-ordered. As we all know, this is usually the Canon routine when a new lens or camera is on it’s way. Current stock becomes back-ordered, and rumors start to leak that a new one is coming.
Now, the question is, how good will the new one be?
The 2nd incarnation of the Canon EF 24mm f1.4L, the Canon EF 24mm f1.4L II, seems to be a mixed bag. Some photographers are reporting it’s worse than the original. Some are reporting it’s MUCH worse. Others love it. At the least, there seems to be some serious sample variation here which should NOT be happening with an L lens, especially one with this kind of price tag.
So, just how good will the new Canon EF 35mm f1.4L II be?
