Photographer loses case in same sex marriage – will appeal

A same sex marriage couple wanted to commission a wedding photographer to photograph the “commitment ceremony”. The same sex couple sued the photographer when the photographer did not want to be forced to use her art form for something she didn’t believed in and declined taking the commissioned work.

The court ruled against the photographer and the photographer is appealing the case. You can read more detail here.

The next day, Willock’s partner, Misty Pascottini, asked Elane Photography via e-mail if the studio would photograph her wedding in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Pascottini didn’t identify herself as Willock’s partner. Huguenin responded that she would be willing to travel to photograph Pascottini’s wedding, and sent her pricing information.

Sounds like “entrapment” to me. The fact that the Photographer was conned into the shoot should have enlightened the court into, why the couple pursued this photographer. The couple have inflamed the scenario by trickery and vindictively propagated trouble .

The right to say NO should not be challenged. Maybe this case will make more “people” aware that just saying no… is enough.
