Canon has made plans to NOT attend the PMA 2010 show in Anaheim, California. This is a big loss for not only PMA but also for the photo industry as it pulls up its bootstraps against a challenging economy. But, Canon will be once again exhibiting at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas in January. When you look at the sheer size of the two shows CES engulfs PMA. From people that we know Las Vegas is a much more pleasing environment when compared to the other option. In casual conversation with photographers and people in the photo industry we’ve yet to find anyone who’s terribly excited about Anaheim. Looking down the road what would happen if other major players follow Canon’s lead? But, remember, there’s still a lot of water that can flow under the bridge between now and February 21. For now, the river seems to be on the low side.
