Canon WiFi range

How far will the Canon system reach? I go into the backyard about 40 yards. Will the indoor antenna still work or will I need an outside one? Has anyone here had success with this systerm and the 5D?

Re: Canon WiFi range

Charles,
I have this system and love it. I would say that you might have problems at that range if you use the standard antenna. If your router is in a building and you are shooting outside then the construction of the building and distance certainly will come in to play. If you are shooting outside and a number of images don't transmit, the images that didn't transmit are still available for wireless transmission when you get back in range. I will tell you that it is a bit slow when working with raw files. My typical usage is for quick preview on my laptop transmitting only the smallest jpg setting while still saving the raw file on the CF card.

Best...
