Can anyone help? When I installed the latest firmware for the 1DmkII I lost all my WiFi settings. I have spent the day re-configuring it but now I constantly get error 99. I use Pocket ITP and when I monitor the server the unit tries to connect momentarily and then crashes to error 99. There is no error 99 on the camera! I have removed the battery and leads and reconnected but still no joy.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Not sure what error 99 means, however one other user reported this error and was instructed to send his transmitter back to Canon. Since it was so close to the firmware update, it's possible that it's something simple - I'd give Canon a shout and see what they have to say about it (I'd be interested to hear what the official meaning of error 99 is). Hopefully it's just a firmware glitch that they can fix in another quick update

Updated both my 1DSMK2's with newest firmware. I can still connect to my laptop
but have lost the ability to connect with my Pocket PC. I'm now getting an error 41.
Worked perfect before update. Any ideas Thomas?

Just for interest, what did you do to rectify the problem? If anyone else comes up with the same problem I'd like to know what this error 99 means

Has anyone figured out for sure what the Error 99 code is?
I'm just in the first stages of learning the WFT, but have already received an Error 99 code.
I'm pretty sure I am doing everything correctly because the Mark II directory is appearing on my laptop, but images are not transfering.
I am using a Mark II with firmware ver 1.2.1. connected to the WFT-E1a and wirelessly connecting to a D-Link DI-624 router with a simple WEP password.
I'm trying to send to a Mac G4 laptop running OS 10.3.9 which is connected to the same wireless network. FTP Access is enabled on the laptop and I'm pretty sure all the ports and passwords are correct since the Mark II folders are appearing on the computer. The folders are appearing in the standard format in which they are created on the disk in the camera, but no images are being transfered.
I think the Error 99 code is generated at the moment the camera tries to send the images.
The interesting thing is that I can get the WFT to create the Mark II folders several places on the laptop (desktop, shared, drop box) but no matter where I try to send the pictures the Error 99 code is always generated after the folders are created and before the images are transfered.
Anybody got any ideas?

P.S. - Thomas...when are you going to release a mac-based version of your ITP software?

This seems to be the behaviour surounding error 99 - I still havn't been able to get a straight answer as to what triggers it. The users that have had it have got it working by playing around with the settings, however none of them have been able to isolate what it was that triggered it. One thing that has seemed to help is switching between active and passive modes - however I havn't been able to confirm that that was what fixed the problem.
If you're interested I can walk you through doing a packet capture (OS X has the software built-in) - I've got an Applescript that can help or we can do it manually. That will generate a file containing all network traffic durring the login sequence - by sending me that file I can look it over and see what the camera is doing wrong. Once we know that, hopefully we can isolate and repair whatever is causing the problem. I'd love to be able to isolate the source of this problem as it seems to come up a lot...

As soon as I can build up enough funds to buy a machine to develop it with ITP is currently freeware, so the only income I gather from it is donations which hasn't been sufficient to purchase the necessary equipment. I'm on the verge of releasing a commercial PC version (ITP 2.0 Professional) which should bring in more direct revenue in turn to giving me the necessary resources. With Tiger comming out at the end of this month, it should work out well if everything goes as expected
