Album Design Software

Hey gang, I'm looking for opinions on the current state of software for album design. Mainly on a Mac but will consider Windows stuff also if it really stands above the rest. What do you use? Why do you like it better than what you used previously? etc.

So far I've come up with these options, what am I missing?
LumaPix FotoFusion
Album DS
Photojunction
Page Gallery
You Select It

I've played around with all of these briefly and so far FotoFusion seems to stand out. Unfortunately it is Windows only meaning we'd have to Boot Camp or use VM Ware to run it.

Thanks.

Re: Album Design Software

Of those in your list, I have only used FotoFusion. However, I can confirm your initial impression; it is very good software. It used to take me about six hours to design a 40-page book when I was doing it manually in Photoshop. With FotoFusion, I can do the same book in under two hours.

My only complaint is the lack of free page templates; I end up doing most of the pages manually.

The other software I've used recently is the SoHo Styler software provided by Renaissance. It works only with Renaissance albums, and has lots of templates, but suffers from a clunky interface. I strongly prefer FotoFusion, and generally use it, even when designing Renaissance albums.

Re: Album Design Software

I've also try other 2 soft wares, besides LUMAPIX
and I can't even remember the name of the other , as I also find LUMAPIX is the best (at least for me)

Re: Album Design Software

I appreciate the responses guys. We ended up doing the first one in Photoshop and it didn't take as long as expected. If FotoFusion was native on Mac we probably would have bought it already but I guess we'll probably stick to Photoshop for now.

Thanks again.

Re: Album Design Software

If this is for a book printing I would recommend Pikto in Toronto. They do fabulous work and their software is online for creation.
