Re: upcoming portrait session

I did mention using window light but we don't know which way the window faces and whether the light will even be usable. This time of year, window light can be very blue up here in Canada, just depends upon a lot of factors. If you count on it, guaranteed it will be a snowy day and you've got nothing to use. Sort of a last minute decision.

You're right though. Window light will sure add a three dimensional feel if it can be used. I think I'm more anti-Xmas tree because of what it looks like. If it were a real tree cut from the neighbors lawn, I'd go for it.

Anything added here is always a welcome addition.

The windows behind the tree are facing roughly Northwest. However at the time of the scheduled shoot there's not much light left outside. And if I remember right the windows are under an overhanging roof.

But at this point, all of this is moot for now. The father called me yesterday to say they had to cancel the shoot. Their daughter who was flying in from Edmonton (through Vancouver), got stuck in Vancouver as the airport there was closed down yesterday for a time due to snow. Hopefully we'll be able to reschedule in the new year. It would have been nice though, to have a job like this right before Christmas.

Re: upcoming portrait session

Thanks Jeff. You're right about the booking in the new year. The key now is to maintain a good relationship with this client.
