Flare and low light wedding shots

Flare is sometimes downright pretty. Here is a wedding shot from this weekend where I purposely induced flare. I used the 14-24 lens on a D3:





And low light - no flash - no videographers light, room is lit only at that time by hundreds of candles:


D3 1/40s f/1.8 at 85.0mm iso3200 custom white balanced at the location.

Flare can be pretty, but it can also be nasty. I hate the contrast killing flare teh 70-200 2.8 IS gives me in some churches -even with a hood. One church I've shot in a few times has a large 2 story window behind the altar that renders the 70-200 useless.
