My suggestion is not something you buy.
I have a folder on my hard drive where I collect pictures that I particularly like. I may mimic them, or I may use them as a spring board for another idea i have.
Either way, my collection is ever-growing and as time goes on it is becoming more and more valuable to me.
You don't have to like the photographer to garnish a picture to add to your collection. I say that so you don't "follow the crowd" in terms of who is hot and who is not.
The name on the left of the posts here and the profiles are a very powerful tool. Today, the web site of a photographer is more meaningful than a business card. By going thu them you can start building your collection.
When you go into a Barnes & Noble look at the books by Monte Zucker. He is very technical in his shooting and what they call "traditional" structured photo's. I learn a LOT from them. Then on the super contemporary side of things, you have Ron Kramer's House Of Photography, Tim Schooler's web site of the same name and one of my favorites (fantastic stuff there, and I am not being biased because I am friends with him - his stuff REALLY is knock-out gorgeous), Peter's Photography (that's not me

and he is extremly successful) and look at Virtual Background's site especially at their monthly newsletter and their featured photographers (I don't mean buy the machine, look at the pictures -lol).
This collection over time, can even be printed (I print mine) and It is great for when you hit a creative block. There is always someone better than you - use em
