Steven - You are on your way to being a professional photographer. I'd suggest a few black and whites. The heart of the moment is in the expressions. it's in the expressions. This is where you will prove yourself as a photographer. Do not equate expressions to details when adding meaning to a page (example: the beach photos, and pardon me for not using that word "populating") Detail shots are old-school embellishments unless they're a family heirloom, etc. You've got the ingredients, keep up the great work. - Ed

Steven, I like what I see.

One effect I might suggest you add to the layout process is to place at least some of the images in a slightly rotated fashion - e.g., the small ones that overlay a large one. I'm not saying this very well... The effect I'm describing is one in which small prints seem tossed over a large one, with the smaller ones not being aligned on an X-Y grid, but turned a bit. It'll make the presentation seem less mechanical.
