You could probably get something built that uses the Interlok technology like DXO, that would be popular.

Out of context, but quoting a certain Noel Carboni.

It would probably be better if (D)igital (R)ights (M)anagement capability were built into the media file format, the way it is with music.

It would probably have to be freely available in either web browsers or something like Abode Acrobat to be accepted.

Re: right to print from cd...revokable...?

I have found a product, a commercial one, thus expensive, that is susposed to offer the same kind of protection as movies or music. It hasn't arrived yet, but I am definitely going to try it.

I don't understand how just making the keycode good for one day and requiring internet activation won't work. Could someone exolain how that simple process would aid piracy?

Boy, it's tough being an electronic dummy sometimes.

Once people drag and drop and/or email your image it's gone. Or is it? Could metadata contain a lock on the image? I am curious.

Re: right to print from cd...revokable...?

curious to know my problem relates/plays with the idea that a lack of a contract stipulates unlimited use..... i had heard that about commercial shoots that usually involve a usage contract.

Okay, Nigel, good point.

However, I think there's a big difference betwen software that installs "watchdog" algorithms on your computer without permission, and a program that requests permission from home base to release photo information for use.

Re: right to print from cd...revokable...?

Imagine you were the judge in a suit over image rights.

First thing I would be interested in is points of law.

1. Did you include copyright data on images?
2. Do you have a signed contract that specifically forbids other than personal use?
3.Does your slideshow include a page specifically forbiding unauthorized use?
4. If available, why did you not use software that limits said unauthorized use?

Dunno, the above is how I would think.
