Summer Bookings Slow

So this spring I had bookings coming in pretty well. I was getting leads, and intrest. But these past few months, though I have been busy with summer weddings, the bookings, and info requests for new bookings have slowed to nearly a standstill.

Just woundered if this is normal for everyone lately, or if it's just this area. It's been a little scary how few calls, or leads have been coming in, even though my advertising and promotion is just as heavy as before

My enquiries and bookings tend to follow a similar trend every year and now is not "bookings season" for me. My peak booking and enquiry time is October through March, with February always the peak month.

Anything I pick up during the summer is a bonus for me but I certainly wouldn't be worried if things were quiet.

What it all means is anyone's guess. I'm booking wedding meetings like mad right now (4 or 5 a week) and getting most of the weddings. The majority are for a year or two away and now the bookings for the winter should start.

No matter when I start booking, I always end up with around the same number.

We are flat out in summer shooting weddings and flat out in winter with appointments and bookings. I'm the same though, Gavin. Every so often in the warmer months I realise that I haven't booked a wedding for a week or so and wonder if our business will start waning. However I have booked 10 in the past week (we are in winter at the moment) and have 2 appointments tonight and 3 tomorrow. There doesn't seem to be a pattern for the bookings either - some are for later this year, some are for autumn next year and the end of the year and some are for 2008. but for some reason, we get more bookings in the cooler months when we aren't so busy shooting. Works well for me though!!
