Held a D200!

Amazingly enough there was one in stock locally.

Although it's funny how everything is exactly backwards to my Canons - this camera is head and shoulders above anything Canon has under $4K - even with the cheap 18-70.

The only thing I'd like to know more about is it's low-light focusing capability - especially with the secondary focusing spots.

And I forgot to check - does it only have a single central spotmeter - or does it have linked spots at each focusing point?

Re: Held a D200!

I bought my first one around 5 months ago, I love it so much I bought another one last month!

I'm using one with the battery grip and Nikon 17-55 f2.8 and the other with the Nikon 18-200 VR

The low light focusing seems great to me, especially with the 2.8 lens.

I'm not 100% sure about the spot metering, but I do think you can move the 'spot' as you do with the focus points.
