I just got an email from Rangfinder about this place though sure how long this forum has been around. I am a regular contributer on a couple of other professional forums and I see a couple of people in here from those places as well.
So here it goes, my first post:
I have been using blogger for the past couple of years to post random photos and thoughts online but I wanted something more. I wanted something with more usability that was polished and would become an integral part of my business plan.
Forward to last night: I was skulking around my host server and I realized they just implimented a free Word Press blog feature into my hosting package. For those who don't know, Word press is a powerful PHP driven blog. So I load it up this morning, make a couple of graphics, and redirect my blogger site to it while importing all the old posts. Whalla, I'm in business!
I want to use the blog as a news and announcement resource for my photography, a way to build up buzz over past and future events. I even figured a way (very easily) to put up an events calendar for people to check dates against--all since 7AM. The site still needs a little tweaking but they always do.
