A potential new tool for your business.

Wouldn't this be great the next time you have a guest screwing up your shots?

It sound a little far-fetched to me... but I'm sure if it can be done, it will be. But... I'm sure someone else will come up with a filter to put on your digital camera to fool the 'disabler'.

That could be much more dangerous than it appears, suppose some vicious malcontent got his or her hands on such a device and showed up where you were shooting an assignment. What would our industry have to do to prevent disaster from happening to bona fidé professional photographers doing nothing more sinister than shooting a wedding assignment for a paying client?

It gets too scary to even contemplate. I could understand some celebrity wanting to disable the prying lenses of pernicious paparazzi but this could be taken to ridiculous extremes.

It sounds like it would be very difficult to effect an SLR as long as they keep mirrors and optical viewfinders. This system scans an area looking for the specific reflectance from the imaging chip. I also suspect even as the system shrinks it will remain too large to be un-detected with portable usage.

What would happen if someone is aiming a UV or IR light source at your lens while you work? This could be very small and cheap and concerns me more then the above system
