Re: Asuka Wedding Books

As long as you save the files with the proper resolution and size, I don't think you really have any restrictions. After all, the finished file is only a JPG...

Re: Asuka Wedding Books

Ed, I already asked them and they're not sure.

It seems if you did use Page Gallery you would still have to paste your work into the Asuka templates. They did tell me that Yervant is working with them to develop some templates for Page Gallery. Couldn't say when those will be available.

In the meantime, I would like to hear from anyone who has found a practical workaround for using Page Gallery to design an Asuka book.

Re: Asuka Wedding Books

Since we design our own I am not 100% sure of this solution but: Try saving your layouts in "Page Gallery" as a PDF. I only suggest this because the Asuka "file checker" converts everything to a PDF for upload. It may not work but why not give it a shot? Also, I am not familiar with "Page Gallery" at all so my suggestion may be totally off base.

Re: Asuka Wedding Books

I'd like to ask....has anyone that now use Asuka for their albums, previously used Graphistudio?
Reason I ask is that I currently use Graphistudio albums, but the high cost has put off people from ordering them and could have also put off clients from using my services (possibly) so I'd like to look into another option. Has anybody out there compared the Asuka albums to the Graphistudio albums? I've been really happy with the quality of Graphistudio but if there's a cheaper alternative who are just as good...obviously I'd like to go with them!

Re: Asuka Wedding Books *DELETED*

I've just been looking at the Asuka wedding albums and would just like to ask members of Asuka something. When I first joined up with Graphistudios I was offered a sample set showing the whole range of products they offer. Do Asuka offer this or do you have to purchase individual sized albums separately to show to clients? If this is the case did it prove costly to start with??

Also-what would you recommend as the best book to get from their range if you were pushed to choose? I noticed they've got 4 types to choose from.

Thanks

Re: Asuka Wedding Books *DELETED*

Hi,

Asuka offer a 50% discount on your first book, then back to list price after that. You'll get a promo code when your registration is accepted by Asuka, simply quote that when transferring your file at the time of order.

To also cover a couple of points listed here in recent days, Graphistudio were recently offering significant discounts on all products at a large trade fair in the UK. During a sit-down chat with an agent, she admitted they are losing ground in certain markets and were too highly priced, she didn't seem to mind admitting it. Personally, I find feedback is patchy to Graphistudio, and kind of think the market is changing a little and people want a more quiet, stylish album - that's just my impression.

Asuka fills this niche perfectly because it gives a great transparency-like feel to it's published images and the paper is hard wearing. In the last 2 weeks I've had a clients (who had prev wanted to receive prints for an album) switch to wanting an Asuka product, simply by flicking through the sample. For me, I long for the day when our published digital files will get back to the Velvia 'feel' ... and I think the Canon 1DSmk11 is getting there quite quickly now, especially in an Asuka product.

If somebody is going for a first sample, plump for the 10" x 10" EX range as it's the top product with printed cover, dj and slip case.

Hope that helps (sorry of I sound like a salesman!)

Mark
