| Re: Posing tips for pregnant brides - any ideas? Hi Jonathon,
I photographed a bride at about 5 months just a few weeks back.
To minimize the pregnancy and focus the attention on the brides expression and the day itself I did a lot of high angle photography. Usually just a foot or two above my subject with a medium portrait lens 24-70. The perspective alone compensates for much of the tummy.
If she plans on having a bouquet, (even a small one), you can use that to cover, along with the hand and arm to minimize the waist-line. Another tip is to use the groom as a partial block by doing poses in which she is just slightly behind the groom.
One more tip I got from the fantastic Hanson Fong is to have the bride bend forward from the waist toward the camera, it also hides the size of the tummy by using perspective/scale.
To emphasize... well all you need to do is do a 2/3, 3/4 or profile shot without obstruction. Or for real emphasis shoot from low angle or use the couple's hands to bring attention to the area.
Best of luck! |
