Asher,

Beautiful critique, could not have said it better myself.

Thanks Jeff for the comment!

I loved your site. I guess a few of the images are your lovely family. The pregnant tummy pic and portraits are so warm and comforting. The little girl on your front page has a great bond with the viewer and something of trust and security. You certainly have grasped the essence of the humanity of your subjects.

For the little girl, how did you process the picture. Of course the eyes sparkly, the face if soft and the hands delicate, but what are the technical details: lighting, film/digital/lenses/P.S. Also how do you print?

It would seem with your care in B&W it would be a short step to Platinum/Palladium prints, but I guess you would need an enlarged internegative. Do people appreciate that style of monochome print?

I feel we are still on topic, because, IMHO, your work demonstrates how portraits can be simple but extraordinarily special.

I wonder, Leslie, whether or not at least a few your clients might appreciate looking like some of Jeff's subjects and be prepared to have a second sitting and pay more for the extra work? Just a thought.

I hope Leslie that you take my impressions as positive, because obviously you a hard working guy and did ask for feedback.

Re: Angelica

At the risk of really geting O.T., I must point out the choice of music on Jeff's site had me subconsciously linger and not close the window as fast as usual and then when I returned to P.S., was still listening to the calming (? harp/ piano) music for 15 mins without realising where it was coming from!

So if you want your portrait site to get more attention, that seems to be something to learn from!
