Your pictures look good. If you want to advance "your look", take a look at www.portranet.com. It may seem expensive but it takes you to whole new levels. I recognize some of your sets so I can tell you are serious about what you are doing.

On a side note, I am in Hialeah, I find it super interesting that you are doing so much Sr High portraits. I was told many times the spanish decent people didn't find Hig School portraits to be a big deal and I was advised it wasn't much of a market. You seem to be showing a different story.

Regards,
~Peter

Thanks Peter

15 yers ago I started doinw weddings, but now weddings are less than 30% of my bisiness, High School portraits 50%. Every year thousands of seniors in your city graduates of high school and there are less peopple spending money on weddings. Try doing more seniors and you'll see.

You have some nice clean looking shots. They would benifit from some more depth in the shots. Almost all your shots are very close to the wall. The look is ok but you are showing too much of it. Try moving away from the background and create some depth in the set. Another advantage of moving away from the wall is you could add some kicker lights and hair lighting which will also enhance a sense of depth.

Here is a link for my son's web site who is 19 years old and starting to shoot some seniors. He shot these with the canon 1d.

The outside work is shot with a piece silver foil insulation board for a reflector.

Re: High School Senior Portraits

Hi Peter,
Have you participated in potranet? I followed your link for that... it looks great! I stumbled across the houseofphotography site awhile back when I was looking for senior portrait samples and just loved the look of those... Do you think the registration is worth the $? One thing that scared me away was the price of the background sets. I might be able to squeeze out the registration fee, but it looks like if I want to *really* achieve the look, that the sets would be nice to have! However, it appears that the lighting is what really makes it... and I could use some help in that area.
Just curious if you (or anyone) has any experience with it (portranet) and can offer any comments.
Thanks,
Holly
