Have anyone tried the B+W Soft focus Plug-in Software Filter?

Can anyone show me some images?

Thanks,

Photoshop has a bunch of blur effects that work great for free. If you put them on an extra layer, then you can control the oppacity, work with layer masks, to do just about anything you want very quickly.

I agree w/ David... most people use blur in PS mastering blur in PS is another thing altogeather. With a little experimentation with opacity etc, you will get the desired affect. Some folks will build up muiltple layers to achieve a really detailed DOF

Re: Digital Soft Focus Plug-in

Thanks guys for your advise.

The reason I'm looking for samples of this software filter is because I love the romantic look the softar has. I have bein usin a Photoshop action that merges two layers after applying 10% Gausian Blur to the top layer and then set the top layer to 40-50% but I'm looking for something more realistic, like the real one (B+W Softar).

Thanks again

Leslie:

I came across a post the other day, I believe it was here in the forums. It mentioned using PS > Filter > Distort > Glow Filter. When you do this take the eye droper tool and sample the light skin tones, this will set your background color to that tone. By doing a blend mode change with the layer you can achive different effects. At the same time you can change the opacity of the duplicate layer and also do an curves adjustment layer between the background layer and the duplicate diffused glow layer to increase / decrease the contrast etc if desired. It is possible to get a similar look with the highlights glowing into the darker areas that the Softar gave.

Re: Digital Soft Focus Plug-in

Thank you Steve:

I'm going to take your advise. Most of the time I do my work with actions and I do not spend much time exploring all the filter Photoshop has but I'm going to try your glow.

Thanks,
