| Is this suggestion workable? Most of you guys & girls here seem to be US based & some UK based, but are there any based in the Republic of Ireland - Eire?
Ok, the US & UK can answer too
When I go over to Ireland (I'm half English/half Irish), would I be able to approach an established wedding photographer who does the formal album service, with this suggestion? That they offer an additional package, me as the 2nd photographer, using a photojournalistic style.
I would be using 2 digital cameras with quality glass & could print proofs/photos or burn CDs/DVDs & even convert into Jpegs to be used on the photographer's site.
For me, I'm thinking that if a customer wants this service, then the lucky firm has the option to use me & the customer doesn't go elsewhere. If the customer's not interested, I don't get used & it should be no skin of the album's photographer's nose.
Alternatively, if the photographer is also digitally based, that I give him/her the rights to print my images for that client & guests, with them taking that profit. Any later reprints (or use of) done with a percentage based agreement. Me, of course, keeping copyright for my images.
I prefer if there is any laughing to be done, that it is here & not face to face when I arrive in Ireland. Is this suggestion something that most photographers would laugh at & decline?
Secondly, what sort of charge would be reasonable to offer for my end of things?
Thanks in advance, Les |
