Im going full Digital with Canon system.

Ok, here is my question, i have started selling all my Nikon stuff and will be buying a Canon 10D, along with a 70-200mm 2.8 IS USM, and a 28-70mm USM, i need to know how are u wedding Photographers doing your packages, before while shooting film i would give the client a leather album with 36 4X6 photo's along with the other prints in sleeves and that into a binder....with digital i want to do the same, where in NYC can i drop off digital files and have them printed as though it was film...need help here, they must look professional at least upto 8x10, and the price can not be super high, as i dont charge much for weddings, this keeps me busy but my profit for a shoot is not astronomical but very reasonable. Also, any tips for those that where Nikon shooters and now shoot canon would be greatly appreciated...i will buy the cam about 2 months before the wedding and get some practice with friends.

Re: Im going full Digital with Canon system.

It all depends on what market you are serving. But if your "people" gallery is any indication of your skill at photographing weddings, you are talented enought to deserve an adequate income for your time and your products.

I am in the process of going filmless. I am doing this for weddings for one purpose: to minimize post-production time so that I can cater to a lower mid price range and still earn a respectful profit. I will charge a set amount (the profit I want for the time spent) up front. Using one of the online labs where a client can order directly from the lab at the print price I set, I will upload the images to a password protected web album. Clients will order online from the lab. The lab charges me 10% of the sales price + print cost + 20¢ per image uploaded. At the end of the month, the lab sends me a check.

If a client wants an album, they have the option of doing it themselves or having me design an album for them.
