Re: Gone back to film

[ QUOTE ]
From the time I hand the film into the processor all of my workflow is gigital, Its just that top end scanners produce better digital images than than cameras at the moment, if this was not the case National Geographic would insist on digital cameras. Soon this may change and when it does I shall start shooting digital again

[/ QUOTE ]
Well, National Geographic already accepts images shot with DSLR's; the cover shot of the recent issue about the history of flight was shot with a Nikon D1X, as were all of the images accompanying that article inside. Sports Illustrated has been 100% digital for a few years already. I guarantee you that images shot with a 1Ds will totally outclass any scanned 35mm film in every respect except for dynamic range compared to negative film. The future has arrived.

Re: Gone back to film

I'm going over to digital for the first time myself, better workflow, easier image management and of course image quality are what's driving me in that direction (the Canon 1D Mark II pretty much made the decision for me).

I've heard that digital does not allow as much graces in exposure as negative film but more so than positives when shooting RAW...
