| Re: On-Camera Flash Brackets?? I currently use a Newton 7200VG bracket on a Canon EOS D60+BP-511 grip. The 550EX flash is attached to a Canon Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2 and sits on top of the bracket. There is sufficient clearance for a f/2.8 zoom. It's really designed to be hand-held (you hold the camera and lens, not the bracket).
The regular Newton brackets have their own quick-release system. However, due to the design of the N7200VG, there is no quick release. The bracket can be disassembled into two pieces, and can be packed flat, taking up minimal space. |
