digital software for school portraits

I am going to be shooting several schools this fall on Nikon D1x's. I am looking for software that will allow me to import a database of students and match that data up with image files as I shoot the photos. I am familiar with one product that is made by "Photolynx" but it is just in testing and will not be ready until Feb or later. If anyone knows of something I can use please respond. I will be using a IBM PC or compatible.

Try photools.com's IMatch 3. It is a full image database management system that is programmable using scripts. You can write a simple script to process your images.
