To quiet around here - so I\'ll post a couple pics

My daughter and her boyfriend dragged me to the beach last night to shoot some pics of the two of them together and some "promo" pictures for her singing career. She's also a senior - so we figured a couple could be used for senior pictures as well. But main goal was a more glamour/promo look.

Cropped one of the above that had a couple elements that bugged me and tossed together a possible CD cover concept.

Ron,
Very nice pics. And a nice retouching work too. Skin texture looks silky.
What kind of reflector did you used?
And about the sunset pic,is it a 'digital magic' again?

Re: To quiet around here - so I\'ll post a couple pics

Thanx

Ahmmmm I think it's a Photoflex, is 52" and I primarily used the gold side. (sometimes silver). Kami's boy friend (first time at the reflector) handled that task, I handled the reflector and D30 while doing pics of the two of them.

Not sure what you mean about sunset pic. That one is stright from the camera, simply cropped (A bit to much for my tastes) to keep it smaller for online viewing. I wasn't overly impressed with them, but I shot them for a double exposure concept I have in my head. Will post if it looks ok.

Re: To quiet around here - so I\'ll post a couple pics

I find sunset pic very pleasant to my taste with the couple, the sun and the bird making a triangle. Each one of the 3 subjets looks to be exactly in the adequate place, not easy to achieve, especially the bird. The clouds perform an interesting difussion halo over the sun shape.
I thought you performed some kind of composition retouching in Photoshop, but now I know it is straight from the camera, it amazes me much more.
Regards.

Re: To quiet around here - so I\'ll post a couple pics

It was funny, I kept having them walk back and forth in that area of the beach. I yell commands while shooting much like a director inspires his actors to do what he invisions.

I saw the bird coming and I yelled to them... "OK CUE THE BIRD" and it flew by as I took the shot. They got a kick out of that. Later a sailboat passed behind them and I yelled "CUE THE SAILBOAT". ;-)

The reason for the silouettes was to do something like this...

And one more double exposure... http://www.zing.com/picture/p3dd3fb2...9.jpg.orig.jpg

Ron, I've noticed the quality work you've put into your retouching. So that I can get a sense of how much work that actually encompasses, would you care to put up a before/after shot?
