Re: To quiet around here - so I\'ll post a couple pics

Dunno what shot you'd like to see, so I went with this one.

before http://www.zing.com/picture/p2567035...9.jpg.orig.jpg

after http://www.zing.com/picture/p0e48095...c.jpg.orig.jpg

to be honest, I was shocked at the difference. I just started working on it and only spent 20 minutes or so on it. I didn't think I did that much. But when I went back and called up another original from the raw file, I was pretty surprised.

Ron, that's really incredible...the work that you've done here. It's something that I aspire to myself. Hopefully, I'll get there eventually. I've heard some digital photographers/artists say the biggest problem with digital retouching is knowing when to stop, because the temptation is to keep tweaking, keep tweaking.

Re: To quiet around here - so I\'ll post a couple pics

I don't know if it's when to stop, I stop when I feel there isn't any more to do.
I'd say it's more not to over correct in other ways, like I feel I over corrected the whites of a eyes a little bit to much. They appear worked on. Actually this was because I was playing around and didn't blend edges or really take me time on it. I should go back and mush down the whites a little.

Part I like best... the mouth on the right (her left) I lowered her lip to eliminate some of the excessive gums and tweaked the gums back on the tooth furthers to the photos right.

I wouldn't have noticed the lip tweak if you hadn't mentioned it...but it did work. Would you care to list the tools in Photoshop you used to make the skin so beautiful? I'm thinking about getting an Eddie Tapp video on retouching if he has one available. You could easily teach a course to photographers on retouching in your off-season. Rick Billings built a sizable business off teaching Photoshop I believe.

Also Ron, I was wondering what script/text face that was on the album cover? I've never seen that before in Photoshop, but it is very elegant.

Re: To quiet around here - so I\'ll post a couple pics

I wasn't totally pleased with the above composites. So I did one more, this one using 4 full sized images so I can make attempt to have a 30x40 made.

I'm finally pleased with this one.

Ron.

Regards.

To my knowledge one can not double expose with the D30 so the silhuette with the couple on the right must have been done in PS.

Im I right?
