Digital magic

For all my shoots, I bring my D1, G4 laptop and Olympus dye sub printer. After I've arranged a group shot, I immediately make a dye sub print, show them all the quality and continue with my shooting. That little bit of show sells twice as many prints as before. And for a hefty surcharge,I'll continue ( my assistant ) making prints the rest of the night for guests who request it!

Re: Digital magic

I'm planning on buying the P-400 for similar activities and have a question I'm hoping you can answer...

How well does the P-400 travel? How are you transporting it? Original shipping box? 3rd party carrier?

Have you (or anyone) ever shipped the P-400 as cargo in a plane? I'm shooting a conference in Denver in July and am planning on transporting the printer but am seriously worried about it surviving the flight.

Any suggestions?

Re: Digital magic

Larry,
It travels as well as my brain! I bought a big soft cooler at Costco, filled it with foam bottom and sides , drop it in, cover the top with more foam and voila! Safe as my head in a football helmet! If you're the brawny type, get a hard cooler ( less theft ) and do the foam trick.
