Re: Workflow help

All these programs have there fans. I like yarc myself. However, whatever you decide to use, REMOVE Zoombrowser from your PC. Replace it with anything that can browse JPEGS.

Re: Workflow help

Like everyone else I hated zoom browser at first too. I later forced myself to keep using it and as I got use to it - I started to really like it.

I've tried Yarc, and Bibble and neither can compare with Zoom.

Re: Workflow help

Nothing compares to Breezebrowser when it comes to viewing and rotating RAW image files.....nothing. I have no need to convert to tif before the customer views them. With the help of Breezebrowser my senior orders this year have increased about $200 per senior. Not bad for a $20 investment.

Re: Workflow help

With respect to workflow issues, you must use workflow specific software. PS is great for editing images as that is what it is designed to do. It was never designed to manage the workflow of digital photographry. Personnelly, I believe the best product on the market today is from Express Digital. I have been using their new software "Portrait & Wedding" and have seen a dramatic increase in my portrait and wedding sales. Its expensive (around 4K), but its worth every penny. It actually has allowed me to really leverage my investment in digital equipment. I too shoot with the D30 and love it.

Re: Workflow help

Ron, the reason to get rid of Zoombrowser is not because it is hard to use (it really isn't) and not because it is slow (which it really is). The reason you should remove it from your work flow is it destroys your image data. It does this in three ways.
(1) It deletes the THM files which have the EXIF information for your RAW files and which are needed if you reconvert an image using the PS plugin.
(2) It can corrupt its own database which is the only place you will have the exposure info for your RAW files.
(3) If you rotate an image in Zoombrowser it will be a lossy rotation.
