Nice, really nice but why did they put that upressed image there, quality is bad and size is 10MB...?

Thanks Jˆrgen, I've just tried using Netscape 4.7 and it loaded without a problem. You're not using NS 6 by any chance are you???

Re: D1x images finally available

NS is full of bugs - Use IE. NS is old news.

Images are... well, I'm not real impressed. Red really blooms, but biggest problem I see is all the noise in the sky. Not a smooth noise free gradient like the D30.

Also I see lots of circles? dirt on the lens? I see it in almost all images but this one has about 5-6 of them in the lower right corner????
http://www.myalbum.ne.jp/cgi-bin/a_a...jpg&file_no=10

bigger is better, but I'm not use to noise. I see most are ISO200. Does the camera offer ISO 100 or less?

after edit of this msg...

OK I did see a 125 ISO. (not much better).

Also - I've always loved 'softness' as long as its a quality-softness. I LOVE the softness of the D30.... it's much like a soft lens on a 8x10 transparancy... But the softness I see in these samples really bugs me. It's not a quality softness, it looks almost like a smear sort of blur, almost like a motion blur. I find it annoying and bothersum to look at. I'm sure this would be reduced or removed if the images were reduced in size. (but doesn't that defeat the purpose of more MP?)

From the samples I've seen, if both cameras were the same price, I'd still take the D30 with no hesitation.

Re: D1x images finally available

Carol !
I'm using Netscape 4.72 on a Mac, and when I push any of the buttons the browser stops loading.

Ron !
I think IE is bad news on my Macs... I have never had serious problems, since I avoid Microsoft products.

I too detect a smeary look, but I think it is hard to evaluate from files that You can't compare with files from a competing camera.
Lets hope that Canons New camera will have better quality. (the rumours I have heard from my supplier is talking about a full frame camera, lets hope that it is true)

Jˆrgen,

There is a Java Applet on the site, you haven't by any chance got JavaScript disabled have you???

I can get in quite easily with NS 4.7. I will check it out with a colleague who uses NS exclusively (but he's also on a Windows machine, but he has JavaScript disabled)
