Stay away from Sandisk

I'm a professional photographers for 20 years. I 've had lots of customer service issues. I find Sandisk to be the worst of the batch. I recommend everyone not buy more from them.

What kind of experiences have you had?

Until recently, I have mainly used Ridata CF cards, and have shied away from Sandisk, but I just bought a Sandisk card (not sure why) for use with my new EOS 40D.

Re: Stay away from Sandisk

I have some kingston cards and the rest are sandisk. Never had an issue with any of them. Some are prolly going on 3 years now. Not sure what I'd ask of customer service at this point. If a card failed I'd just buy a new one.

It would be of interest to know your specific experiences that cause you to take this position. I haven't heard many bad things about Sandisk. I've been a Lexar user for these past years, and always had good service from them.

Re: Stay away from Sandisk

The cards are fine, except the last one. On whole though they are fine cards.

But I called them, you get a horrid wait, some goofballs with heavy Indian accents who say they will call and e mail back with your RMA ( because of computer problems) -- and then never call back or e mail back.

You e mail support 2x and they don't e mail back. Ever. They also wont do data recovery. And their techs are generally morons.

In contrast to Lexar support it's night and day. I will never buy Sandisk again. Such a garbare company.

I disagree

Hi,

I guess we all have to speak as we find.

I've used Sandisc since 1997, going back to the old Type 3 cards. I remember when the 520mb card was launched we scoffed "Why would you want such a huge card", and it cost over £500!! ($1000)

On two occassions I've had to return cards and not had a problem, on both occassions they upgraded the replacements as a gesture of goodwill one from a 1GB to a 4GB.
