Such a thing as a SDHC Firewire Reader?

I have one for a CF card...but is there any for SDHC media?
Thanks!

Re: Such a thing as a SDHC Firewire Reader?

I haven't been able to find one.

Have you considered using an SDHC to CF adapter?

There are one or two SD to CF adapters out there that a Google search will find, from Panasonic and Jobo Europe (out of stock at BH and Adorama), but it's not clear if they would work with SDHC, and they are also apparently not very fast.

I found a reference to Jobo USA making one available in the US soon, and I have e-mailed them to see if it is true. I'll add to this thread if they give me an answer.

I would love to have something like this so that a firewire reader could cope with both the CF and SD cards from my Canons, even if it were a bit slower reading the SDs

David.

Re: Such a thing as a SDHC Firewire Reader?

I got the following reply from Jobo last night. Hope it helps. I think that I will wait for the dedicated SD adapter as it is so much smaller and I really don't need all the other memory types.

David.

--------------------------------

Dear Mr. Barry,

Yes, we have just recently updated our JOBO SECF17 adapter product to support the new
SDHC format. All adapters that we are currently shipping have this new upgrade. (open attachment)
Next month, we will also offer a single SD/SDHC to CF adapter that will support only the SD formats but will
be smaller and will fit flush inside the JOBO GVP unit. The model # of our single SD to CF adapter will be SE9108.
All of our adapters and digital storage devices can be ordered from any photo specialty retailer as well as online
at www.B&H.com or www.Adorama.com

You will know immediately if the adapter does support SDHC because there is
a white SDHC logo in the right lower corner of package.

Best regards and thank you for supporting JOBO,

Lynda Walker
