Re: Canon's new Media Storage M80

I saw a pre-production model a few weeks ago and it seems rugged enough. The screen was superb too.

Are the hard drives in these units upgradable?

Re: Canon's new Media Storage M80

I am using the epson with my 1DS MKII. It does not allow zooming in on the raw files which I shoot exclusivly. If Canon device allowed that it would be a strong advantage for me.

Re: Canon's new Media Storage M80

If anybody sees any added info on price and shipping date, please let us know here.

My wife and I am going to Egypt in January and the M80 would be just the ticket as she uses SD cards and I use the CF cards...the M80 takes both.

Thanks.

Re: Canon's new Media Storage M80

I recently picked up an Epson P3000 and I have to say it rocks. You can zoom in on raw files, it displays histograms and it even has an xmp plugin for adobe bridge.

Other things I like about it, I can plug one of my pocket drives directly into it and back up anything thats on the P3000 to the pocket drive.

You can print from it as well, not that I have any use for that.

Download speeds very depending on the card. If you have only one card that could become an issue, but most people travel with more than one card.

I would highly recommend this product!!

Re: Canon's new Media Storage M80

It's coming down to decision time on making a purchase and the Epson P5000 is starting to look pretty good.

I have been told that Canon has no intention of releasing the Media Storage M80 in North America in the near future. It is about to be released in Europe. Now why would they not release it in N.A.? It seems to me their biggest market is here in the U.S. and Canada.

Any new info on this product, cost and release date out there?

Thanks John.
