T&I - Time needed to shoot 350 kids?

I've not any T&I - been trying to get into it, but the leagues around here are pretty much locked up.
Until today - I got a call from a baseball league and they are very interested, as well as yesterday I made a contact with a guy that runs summer basketball leagues and other sporting tournaments.

The baseball league has 350 kids from 5 to 15, and I've got 8 am to noon to shoot them - then a parade starts, and I've got a wedding in the afternoon anyway...so...What kind of time does it take to do T&I? Will one photog be enough to do this? Yes, I have a paper pusher to help with that part and have shot similar events before, but nothing of this magnitude.

TIA
Chris

Re: T&I - Time needed to shoot 350 kids?

We do a 4-6 yr old soccer league of 700 in that exact time, however, we've been doing them for 20 years and have it down pat and have 3 cameras working. We like to allow 15 minutes per team if there is one photographer, but usually need less.

If you are working as the only photographer, I would have one helper pushing paper and one setting up the groups. I prefer to have separate cameras for sure and avoid changing settings. If you have one helper gathering the group together, separating them into one row of taller and one row of shorter and getting them posed, ready for you to shoot, things will go a whole lot smoother.

The biggest issue is having a few coaches squawk that they are missing players and they want you to wait. The extra helper is good for this. We simply tell the coach to shout when everyone is there, or some have to leave. I do not need to keep one team's individuals and team shot together in a sequence and that is a huge help for us.

T&I? I'm from a real estate background where T&I is Taxes and Insurance or TI is Tenant Improvements. For this dummy, what is T&I? Time and Interest?

T&I is Team and individual, typically for sports team and generally includes a memory mate (Which has the team and individual in one paper frame) and some other items

Re: T&I - Time needed to shoot 350 kids?

Gotta love volunteer orgs...every day is a new day.

I got an email back that they're schedule is for T&I from 8-11:30, then the parade, and more photos 1:30-4.
I responded that I can't be there after 1 - I have a wedding to shoot. I suggested a schedule change on their part to let me shoot everything before noon, they can have the parade at 12:30 and everyone will be able to go home at 2:30 instead of 4.
I hope that works...it's be a nice job to get.

Re: T&I - Time needed to shoot 350 kids?

I suspect they found out there were are few coaches who could not be there for the a.m. Just the normal sports BS. That's why I like the Composite system. No team shots, no need to get everyone on the proper sequence, shoot the day before or after and it still works fine.

I'd hire a few helpers and it will get done before 11:30.
