Lexar card survies the laundry

So I get back from shooting a track meet today and I have grass and mud stains on my jeans. I put them in the wash right away....and somewhere in the rinse cycle I realize one of my lexar cf cards is in there.

Yes I usually empty my pockets, but lately I've been putting my full cards in that little pocket half way down the right leg that carpenter jeans have. Anyway after realizing where the card was I thought I was gonna have to wash the pair of jeans I was wearing at that moment.

Since Ive heard a lot of stories of people drying out stuff in the oven, I figure low heat in dryer is gonna do about the same thing (dont worry I didn't just let it bounce around in there.) Anyhow, I got it nice and dried out and popped the card in. All 130 images are fine and my card smells like a "Mountain Spring"

-Chris

(by the way, anyone wishing to launder their cf cards, I suggest a warm wash with a cold rinse )

It's a good thing you didn't use a softener or you would have had to "sharpen" them up a bit.

I did the same thing about three or four months ago. In this case it was just one of those 16mg cards supplied with the D30. My three year old son will walk off with stuff if I'm not looking, so I stuffed that one in a shirt pocket. I realized I was missing it when I was folding the shirt after the dryer.
I think "Oh, @#$%" went through my mind, followed by me running back to the dryer to see if I had to pick any of the images out of the lint catch. The images were OK.

"Ancient Chinese secret, huh?"

You probably have to be pretty old to get that one.
