FAST Lense For BB?

Hey, recently I shot a game of hs varsity. Shot the whole game with a 50 1.8 at 1.8 1600 and like 1/1000th or close to it. The focal length was good for me shooting under the basket on the baseline at people driving. www.blackcoralphoto.com . I have 3 shots from the night in the sports gallery. I shoot hs yearbook, so full body is almost a must... while many people like croping in a lot more.

I use a 50mm 1.8 but would rather use an 85mm lens. Even in the dark gyms I shoot in, I can get 250th at 1.8 on ISO800 on my Canon D2000
