Although it wasn't clearly stated, I believe the problem is that the Recent Posts page has no corresponding RSS feed. If you're trying to use RSS like Andrew Cassino is, the available feeds from ProPhoto are pretty noisy.

Re: I want to IGNORE the Photo News Today Thread!

If you use 'Todays Posts' in the quick links menu, all the news gets plugged into there.

It wouldn't be so bad if the advertisements left and right had not taken about half the available real estate. A simple title lands up spread over three or so lines and the page goes from here to forever as a result.

Re: I want to IGNORE the Photo News Today Thread!

To clarify, I've been using the "Today's Posts" QuickLink and "New Posts" Search - mainly the latter. Somehow I had overlooked the "Recent Posts" button or not realized it performed differently. All three functions reference the same word "Posts", so it is not obvious they'd work differently!

What I really like to see is a "New Posts" button that insures I do not miss any original content from this site, and omits the newsfeeds. Plus an RSS feed that mirrors the results from that button. "Recent Posts" doesn't cover my needs when I have been offline for a week or more.

Try it for a while. I think you'll find it works better than you think... especially for no more traffic than this forum has. The Recent Posts link today lists all threads that have had some new traffic within the past ten days. I've used nothing but that link for ages (here and on other forums as well). I recall nagging Drew (politely) to put the Recent Posts link back in when he started using this skin as the default back in his early days with the forum. For a while you had to use the old skin to get it. He promptly added it. Its a very efficient way for regular readers to see at a glance what threads have new posts.
