Re: Bjorn Rorslett\'s Nikon D2x review is up...

The very first image this guy puts up in his "review" already speaks enough ...

I agree. The dynamic range looks to be about the best I've ever seen on a DSLR...
Bjorns' review was a so well written and thought out..Thanks, Bjorn, once again

Re: Bjorn Rorslett\'s Nikon D2x review is up...

The comparison to the 1Ds2 doesn't include identical shots & is therefore pretty much useless. Stand in one spot, use equivalent "normal" lenses (50mm on 1Ds2, 35mm on D2x), shoot ISO 100 @ f/8 & then compare.

And you pixel-peepers, don't forget to resize the smaller file to that of the larger before checking details. And sharpen both.

And the light fall off in the full frame sensor is quite noticable compared to the DX Nikon sensor. Nikon might ahve been right about it's sensor size.

I also want to see the distortion caused by using 1.5x wider lenses to capture the same composition. There are many advantages to FF cameras & I'm probably never going smaller than 35mm again, but I'm keeping an open mind & still own a bag full of Nikkors.

Woohoo....kudos Nikon.

It's great to see another hi-rez contender, so kudos indeed.

The comparison with the 1Ds mk2 is ridiculous. You can not compare different sensor sizes with the same lens. The comparison must be with equivalent angle of view. In other words, if you use a 14mm on the D2x, on the 1Ds the lens must be a 21mm, or if you use a 200 on Nikon, the Canon must use a 300mm.
On the other side the D2x is aa great camera, but itīs no better as a 1Ds mk2.

How do you know this? Did you use it for a month and then do an exhaustive comparison between the two?
