Pros:
Sharp, and a lot lighter than the 2.8
Cons:
a tad slower, but for me thats fine

I sold my 70-200 F2.8 IS to "step down" to this one, as its a much better walk around lens, and walking around in the back woods in Alaska, the less weight helps a lot! Its very sharp, and is great for Wildlife and sports as well. The 1.4X works great on it as well. I give it 2 thumbs up.
