Pros: sharpness and versatility
Cons: it's a manual lens

Excellent lens for product shots. Great to have the t/s capability in such a compact format.

Pros: unlimited control
Cons: limited speed

This is my favorite lens anytime I don't have to deal with a subject that's moving too fast. Imagine shoting at 2.8 - but having a depth of field that can look like f22 - in the areas you apply it. You can begin to 'paint' your sharpness across the picture plain.

If choosing a lens is about creative possibilites - this lens gives you more choices.

When I started to use it I had never thought about combining focus in something other than foreground, middleground, or background type 'textbook' compositions; but this lens allows me to think and challenges me to compose connecting the foreground and background.

So the excercise of seeing is greatly increased with the possibilities this lens provides.

I highly recommend challenging your visual approach with the new techniques that this lens can afford you. If you'd like to try your hand at bending the focus plain without spending the $1k - try making your own tilt shift lens out of a cheap used lens and see if you like the technique. It will probably only cost you $40
