Pros:
better than the nikon12-24
Cons:
lens cap
I tried the nikon 12-24, then the Sigma 10-20 and took the Nikkor back.
The Sigma is sharp edge to edge (when used with a Digital, I no longer own film antiques) fast focusing, compact and well built. When compared to the 12-24 Nikon it wins hands down in the sharpness department, the nikon is just plain soft when compared to the Sigma.

Pros:
Sharp, low CA, quick focus
Cons:
front/rear lens caps, little heavy
I borrowed one of these from a buddy to use while out hiking in the Superstition Mountians. This lens was great for capturing scenic landscapes while I was out there, very sharp when used at 5.6, and had very little distortion when shooting at F4, 10mm.
The lens caps were junk though, but those can be easily replaced for a few extra bucks. Lens build felt great, aperature ring seemed to be a little stiff, but loosened up after continued use; it did start to get heavy after awhile, but maybe that is just a sign that I need to get into the gym.
All things considered, I really enjoyed using this lens and intend to get one for myself soon.
