I’ve not upgraded to CS4 because my favorite NIC filter plug-ins do not run on PS CS4 64-bit on Vista 64-bit and NIC has not indicated they intend to support this 64-bit/64-bit combination
You do know that when you install CS4 on Vista 64 you get both 32 and 64 bit versions. It's a bit of a pain to switch back and forth, but it's doable just by saving/closing/opening. Or you could conceivably just work in CS4 32 bit until such time as your plugins become available in 64 bit, then use the other one. The UI is identical, so no work is lost in re-learning.

Re: ACR vs C1

Noel, I didn’t know that …thanks for the heads up.

That leads to a question… Can the 32-bit code be removed when it is no longer needed?

I ask because my primary hard drive is a 160GB WD Raptor drive (OS and Apps, no data, no photos) and it is running about 55% full at this time.

If the difference between LR1 32-bit and LR2 64-bit is any example PS 64-bit is going to be a lot faster.

Re: ACR vs C1

I see no reason you couldn't delete the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe Photoshop CS4" folder. The 64 bit version goes into "C:\Program Files\Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64 bit)".
