Canon DPP Update

Has anyone installed the Canon DPP update? Are you running it in Leopard? Any problems so far?

Re: Canon DPP Update

I've tried downloading it several times but the Canon site is a little screwed up and I can never get it to work. Make me think they may have taken the DPP update off for some reason.

Re: Canon DPP Update

I've installed it and tried running it under 10.5 (sorry, I can't keep all the names straight anymore). Same problems as before. Crashes when trying to generate thumbnails. Dumped the old plist file, crashes on opening.

I liked DPP, I really did, the conversions out of it were quite nice, but it seems like Canon can't figure out how to get it's software to work on 10.5.

Well, what do you expect for free?

(yeah, I'm a bit POed right now, sorry.)

Re: Canon DPP Update

Sorry to hear about the troubles Josh. That's not what I hoped to hear. Thanks for posting. I'll wait a few days to see if there's an update.

Re: Canon DPP Update

Alan, hopefully it's just an issue with my computer and something funky specific to this machine, but we'll see over the next few days. In the meantime, I'm really starting to like bibble again. It works for raw processing, and it tethers so much easier then the crazy canon set-up.

Re: Canon DPP Update

Josh, FWIW I downloaded the update for Capture One (v 4.1) yesterday and it's working fine. I haven't tried shooting tethered but the release notes indicate they've got tethered shooting working and also added a hot file. So you can also shoot tethered with another software and have the file show up in Capture One.

I also posted a query on another forum and apparently you're not alone in your trouble with the DPP update. What a shame! DPP used to be my favorite raw converter.
