I have expressed my wants for the feature in the online LR2 forum.

Been playing with it a little, and had one hangup so far, but not quite sure what caused it. I had to reboot.
I agree with you Dennis about the dual monitor support. It doesn't let you edit on the second monitor as in extended screen mode. I use a Wacom Cintiq as my second monitor so I edit directly on the screen. With this Lightroom beta, I have to swap the controlling monitor in the Mac display preferences to be able to use the Cintiq.

Both Photoshop and Aperture allow you to use a second monitor in extended mode to give you more working space. Hopefully this will be worked out with the final release.

I already tried that and it does not produce the ‘sparkle’ that can be achieved with Smart Sharpen. I went looking for the remark on sharpening eyes in LR 2 and could not find it …maybe I dreamed it.

That said: I sure would like the ability to lasso 1 or more non-contiguous, irregular areas, feather the edge of the selection and apply sharpening to those areas… non-destructively. That feature alone would obviate the need (my approach in any case) to finish final selections of portraits and people in Photoshop. Maybe in LR 3.
