I don't believe in pre-baked settings because each image (and
type of image) has different requirements. There is no substitute for being able to analyze an image and diagnose what adjustments are needed, and there's no substitute for knowing exactly how the controls in ACR work so that one can accomplish those adjustments. This requires study and practice, study and practice. There are no magic settings that eliminate the need to master one's craft!

Real World Camera RAW pretty well lays everything out that's needed for ACR, but I can tell you I also learned to master Capture One and DPP by studying that book. Similarly it will still teach you how to handle ACR 4.1 because the principles are all the same and there's been enough information released by Adobe about the new controls in 4.1 that anyone that's learned previous versions can fairly easily understand them.
