Re: DPP 2.1 is available

Won't install correctly over my DPP 2.03 for Windows XP SP1. Gives an error message that it didn't install properly and to try install again. Updater appears a bit buggy.

Antonio,

For me, running XP SP2 / PS CS2 the single command does work...
Guess it is all different for everyone? Gotta love computers

Thanks. It must be some system/file type setting I guess. In my case, it launches CS2 (if not running) but it does not load the image.

Re: DPP 2.1 is available

Antonio,

Just for the benefit of the information, I tried the transfer with photoshop closed and it worked. Initally I did the transfer with photoshop open. Sorry I cannot help any further than that.
However, if you might try the noise reduction settings... and see if the chroma noise reduction actually works for the final output... it did not for me.

Thanks!

*steve

Re: DPP 2.1 is available

When a fresh install is acting oddly, I usually try repairing permissions. Some software installers corrupt permissions. Also as I said earlier, sometimes it helps to find and trash the preferences file.

Pete, have you had any better luck with it?

Re: DPP 2.1 is available

When some days ago I read there will be a noise reduction in DPP I though this feature will be available for individual images. Only to the ones I want to select for being noisy (high ISO images, or long exposures, for example).

But I'm dissapointed that in DPP 2.1 the noise feature (No reduction, Low or High) is only available in the software Preferences window so it aplies to all the images or to no one.

Why not the possibility to apply individualy only to the images I want to apply noise reduction?

Re: DPP 2.1 is available

OK, Now I can't get ANY version of DPP ( 1.1, 1.6, 2.0.1.4, 2.1.1 ) to open it's preferences window without locking up!
The program itself is working.......but I cant set any preferences!
When I go to the preferences window in DPP nothing happens.......when I try to go there again I get the spinning wheel,
and it locks up. I've tried dumping the preferences file, repairing permissisions, reinstalling, everything.
I'm wondering if an Apple security update has messed things up.
I'm out of ideas.
Pete
